After a 7 year stint in the corporate field ,Kalyan Akkipeddi decided he had to do something different.He left his well-paying corporate job to set his plan in motion.
He travelled through rural India for two-and-a-half years to understand poverty and the people who were affected.He discovered that some of the tribal communities he visited were
content with their life.It was then that he realized that instead of spending energy on eradicating poverty, we should work to create abundance.
He travelled through 166 villages and finally chose to settle in Tekulodu village He purchased 12.5 acres of land “to set up a demonstrative rural community that is ecologically sustainable, socially cohesive and economically viable… to be built by the villagers, for the villagers.”
